I can only add that people assess situation against own thoughts and potential reaction. So … if we think that we could find something interesting at other planets to take as own, or consider all those 4 variants from our side to other species – then the same approach they might behave similarly probably is applied ..

Though - I wouldn’t call the fear as a sign of racism, but historically proven natural instinct to rather run from something potentially dangerous and I guess we have in our genes (regardless education ) mother nature left quite fair believe, that here on earth, in darkness, we can find rather unpleasant things J

Here author gave quite generous assumption … with current speed of developing technique we might be able in next XX years go somewhere and hit some life – and I bet that till that time we will not get read-off our bloody attempt… Plus sometimes something what is perceived by lower developed nation as a sign of cruelty might have totally different perception by ‘upper’ civilizations (you know- the approach of ‘making something in the sign of greater good’… look for dozen examples of ‘white man help’ given to Africa or Australia natives )

PS. Wonder why the guy WASN’T analyzing why those potential aliens didn’t approach him .. Ok, they might not notice him, but he had a feeling they stopped over sign he is coming closer… so … maybe aliens are with some similar racism against us, men….
